Job Summary

Nebraska Central Railroad Company is seeking an individual interested in the transportation field as a Train Service Employee. This role supports conductor and engineer functions and is accountable for safe work practices, knowledge of the General Code of Operating Rules, and compliance with Federal Railroad Administration guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform switching, make-up and break-up of trains, and road haul train movements. • Perform ground tasks including coupling and uncoupling cars and operating switches. • Maintain accurate records of cars handled, repairs performed, and track conditions encountered. • Complete accurate switch lists, interchange records, and assigned paperwork. • Communicate with management, customer service teams, and connecting railroads.

Requirements

• Certified Locomotive Engineers are preferred. • Must be willing to become a certified engineer as a condition of employment. • Valid driver's license required. • Must be able to successfully pass the operating rules examination. • Must be able to distinguish color signal aspects.
