Job Summary
Conductors are responsible for the overall operation of the train, coordinating with the engineer, performing switching operations, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
Responsibilities
- Direct train movements and switching operations
- Verify shipping documents and car placement
- Couple and uncouple rail cars
- Inspect cars and air brakes
- Communicate with dispatch and yardmasters
Requirements
- FRA Conductor Certification or willingness to complete training
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather
- Valid driver's license
